sana maayos ulit yung place…
September 29th, 2006 at 7:55 am
September 29th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
oh my goodness! yung mga landmark monkey pod trees ay nasira…i wonder if the controversial dao tree in SU and the fertility tree is still standing. I can’t imagine that they weren’t able to bear ‘Milenyo’ even though they were able to bear the brunt of supertyphoon Rosing in 1995 (that typhoon was scary!)…Mukhang wala na namang kuryente for months dyan…sad. Thanks for updating us on the situation in LB.
September 30th, 2006 at 9:06 am
October 1st, 2006 at 8:14 am
OMG… grabe naman yung nangyari… ang lungkot. :’( sana maibalik yung mga natumba
October 2nd, 2006 at 12:12 am
wow!lakas talaga ang force of nature..sabi nga pag may ulan may araw..kaya yan ELBI!baguio talagang binagyo!lolzz
October 2nd, 2006 at 2:13 am
Weird.
October 2nd, 2006 at 5:19 am
omg. di ako makapaniwala. kaka sad.
October 2nd, 2006 at 11:49 am
Nakatayo pa rin ang Dao (tama si Jamby, hehehe) as well as the Fertility tree. But the hanging bridge near old Rural has been cut into half.
October 3rd, 2006 at 12:08 am

October 3rd, 2006 at 6:04 am
October 3rd, 2006 at 12:58 pm
Yes daming trash, but it’s a blessing to other people.
Students are now busy raising funds to reach to those who were devastated by the typhoon. Several groups are also active in soliciting whatever donations they can get.
October 3rd, 2006 at 1:14 pm
I couldn’t imagine this happening to our UPLB! Have the student groups, employee orgs, sociocivic associations, and residents been organized to do something about the cleanup? It’s not just the UPLB chancellor and mayor’s jobs to lead the cleanup effort. Let’s all do something to take care of UPLB, Laguna de Bay, and Mt Makiling now.

I’m a batch 98 and haven’t been back to LB for the longest time. I miss LB so much and I think it’s the perfect place to recuperate. Seeing your pics… grabe, I feel so sad. I hope everyone there is okay now and that LB’s usual grandeur will be restored the soonest time.
I like your blog. Ang suwerte mo balik LB ka. Will include your blog in my list if you don’t mind. Thanks.
October 4th, 2006 at 7:59 am
Phone charging at shapers gym is Php20.hr, laptop is Php100.hr.Classes are one week suspended, excluding two days last week (Thursday and Friday).
October 4th, 2006 at 8:13 am
If you think you’re shcoked with that, visit our campus (College of Forestry and Natural Resources). yung nakikita nyo is just about 10% of the destruction the storm made sa campus namin. They are estimating na around one month pa bago magka-kuryente dahil more than 10 trees fell and knocked off almost all electric posts.
To the Dao inquiries: the dao tree is still standing and will continue to stand proud- a testament to those who fought not to cut it.
October 4th, 2006 at 8:55 am
wow… astig ng dao tree! hey elbi people hope you guys do okay this coming end of sem and next sem. too much damage has been done pero ayos lang yan. elbi miss you so much!
October 4th, 2006 at 12:21 pm
ei.. bat alang pic ng hanging bridge.. haay, sobrang lungkot tlga ng nangyari.. great devastation..
October 4th, 2006 at 2:30 pm
Salamat sa pag-post ng pics. Matagal na akong naghahanap ng photoblog of the campus after Milenyo. LB native ako here in Canada. Kawawa ang mga nasalanta ng baha, and what happened to the whole area. Ano plans for Loyalty Day this Sunday? baka better clean-up drive na lang mga alumni to restore the beauty of the campus.
October 4th, 2006 at 3:06 pm
this is such a sad moment. when i learned that classes will be suspended for one week, i couldn’t fully rejoice because it means na ganon ka-grabe ang damage sa uplb… praise God for His protection sa karamihan ng tao sa school…
October 4th, 2006 at 4:19 pm
thanks for blogging about uplb. brings back memories. too bad i discovered your blog because of this typhoon.
October 4th, 2006 at 4:28 pm
this is soooo sad. one of the reasons i go home to LB is to see the trees and now…
thank you for sharing these pictures.
October 5th, 2006 at 8:37 am
haaaay….ang UPLB kong mahal bakit naging ganyan….i just hope maibalik ang dati ayos..kundi man yung original when i was in college how many years ago sana kahit man lang half nun…
October 5th, 2006 at 11:20 pm
actually nangyari na ito dati, back in the 90s. maraming palm trees ang natumba (that explains kung bakit maliliit yung ibang palm trees) and registration was postponed indefinitely (it took a month i think)kasi walang kuryente. Relax guys, LB is one tough cookie! konting linis lang and I’m sure it will go back to its same old glory.
October 6th, 2006 at 12:24 am
October 6th, 2006 at 2:20 am
hay . . . sana ka recover agad ang ating beloved campus. it’s been years since my BS and MM days and i have been longing to go back . . . and now … sad talaga.
thanks for sharing the pics.
October 6th, 2006 at 5:30 am

October 6th, 2006 at 6:11 am

October 6th, 2006 at 10:42 am
nasa lb ako for a very short visit from 3 am to 8 am of sept 27. I was hoping to visit my campus more (BSA ‘89), pero walang time. Flight to Shanghai was 11 am. From umali subd, I was driving towards Jamboree to PCARRD, thinking.. next time, LB, I’ll be back. Thank you for the glimpse before the storm. It was beautiful.
October 6th, 2006 at 9:18 pm
October 7th, 2006 at 3:11 am
sad nmn! hay i just pray that elbi will gain its former glory. i love this place so much and i visit this place whenever manila stress gets out of hand.
October 7th, 2006 at 4:58 am

October 8th, 2006 at 7:47 am
i was in lb when typhoon rosing hit in 1995…Milenyo must have been worse. I don’t remember any major trees falling then. Aw…sad. I loved those LB trees…
October 8th, 2006 at 9:34 am

well, sa lakas ng bagyo, some trees really had to go, nothing to worry UPLB,all that is needed is clean-up

October 10th, 2006 at 2:29 am
LB’s a lil okay now… but what was lost can hardly be replaced or restored… but that’s just the way it is… changes, changes, changes… it’s permanent…
October 11th, 2006 at 3:53 am
i heard from the news how the Milenyo slashed the beauty of our beloved Alma mater UPLB…taking lives along with it. i’m currently located here in mindanao, so habang naghahasik ng lagim si Milenyo sa Luzon, we have no clue that it was worse than we thought. all we have here was fog and winds..how sad am i when i saw these pictures. thanks for sharing. JC
October 12th, 2006 at 10:52 am
ang lakas talaga ng bagyo.. but cheer up guys ok na ngayon narestore na ang power and nalinis na rin ang campus.. yun nga lang di na naibalik ang mga puno..:D what’s weird is kung bakit nakatayo pa rin yung dao tree.. kala ko ba delikado na yun.
October 12th, 2006 at 2:53 pm
bilib ako sa fertility tree!! still “erected” pa rin xa..hehehe…mabisa talaga ang “vitamins” na nakuha nito (u know what i mean)<—danilo, 01
October 16th, 2006 at 7:14 am
Tsk tsk tsk… malungkot!
October 27th, 2006 at 10:51 am
i stay in a dorm in forestry, MAREHA, and i cant think of any words suited to describe the pictures of devastation in forestry after milenyo. Lupet talaga!
